Interior Architecture

Wassily Kandinsky quote “Everything starts from a dot”
This statement inspires us to explore the infinite possibilities in the design of interior, where the definition of a place is not only limited to what is within sight.

The design of this project is inspired by Kandinsky's famous work "Crossing Lines", echoing the owner's unique taste and reflection on art collection. We extracted the inspiration of perspective and spatiality from the painting's layers of lines and color blocks to create a geometric abstraction with great visual depth and dynamism in the physical space.

In the arrangement of the space, we cleverly use different forms of geometric doors to divide each functional area, and they become a link in the physical space in the process of opening and closing like dancing musical notes, injecting life and vitality into the overall space. Like Kandinsky's works, it does not rely on figurative images to express emotions and thoughts, and conveys abstract beauty and emotional connotation beyond materiality, so that three-dimensional space and flat space can coexist harmoniously in visual and conceptual terms.

The collection of paintings on the wall of the living room incorporates the grid and color block elements of Kandinsky's work, with an emotionally charged grid artwork on the left and a doorway to another space on the right. This approach creates an illusion of space and visual impact.

We made most of circulation to express the musicality and rhythm of the work, linking the entire living space through circular movement within the original square layout, which is both interconnected and self-contained.

The staggered geometric elements of points, lines, surfaces and arcs in the painting form a structure in an orderly and harmonious way. We have also incorporated these elements into furniture and details, such as furniture shapes, chandeliers and cabinets, to further present the mutual support and complementarity between abstract elements, creating a sense of balance and stability.

Walk-in closet as a whole solid blue color, which makes people feel like they are in a borderless color block. Any activity in this space is a kind of immersive experience, changing and fading all in this color block, which is another humorous experience we want to bring to the owners.

The mirrored reflections create an interesting stacking of spatial scenes, bringing a sense of abstract emptiness and blurred boundaries into the real world.
